Our Church Was Paying Way Too Much for Live Streaming
Grant Perry wears many hats at Christ Community Church in Winter Haven, Florida. In addition to his role as Office Administrator, he helps lead the Celebrate Recovery and worship ministries, and supports the pastoral team and broader church operations.
Leading up to 2020, Christ Community was already in a transition. Their longtime lead pastor had retired, and a younger associate pastor stepped in with a vision to rethink how church was done—embracing more progressive methods and pursuing fresh growth opportunities.
When COVID-19 hit, like many churches, they pivoted quickly to live streaming and signed on with Resi. It was the right move in the moment, even if it came at a high cost. But as a medium-sized church with a big-church feel, Christ Community has always been intentional about maximizing their outreach, often by investing strategically in tools that serve their ministry well.
At the same time, however, they also care a great deal about being wise with their finances, and regularly audit their tech subscriptions to ensure that they are receiving good value at a reasonable cost. During one of these audits, they realized that their live streaming bill had quietly ballooned. They investigated further the value that they had received and realized that they hadn’t heard from Resi in 3 years. No check-ins, no offers to help them improve their stream, no sign of partnership. To them, it felt less like ministry support and more like a forgotten invoice.
These realizations sparked a search for something better: a streaming partner that offered high value at a reasonable cost, responsive support, and a desire to help the church grow.
It was time for a change.

Finding a Partner, Not Just a Platform
As Grant dug into alternatives to Resi, he quickly found that many streaming services weren’t built with churches in mind. Some lacked the features churches rely on. Others didn’t even have real people available to answer his questions.
But BoxCast stood out.
Grant was soon connected with Dan from the BoxCast team, who took the time to understand Christ Community’s goals and walked him through the platform, pricing, and support.
“BoxCast’s sales rep was cool,” Grant said. “He was really honest and helpful. He took the time to answer all of my questions and walk me through how everything worked.”
Beyond the functionality and friendliness he came to discover, BoxCast’s affordable pricing model sealed the deal.
“Our church came to realize that we were overpaying for streaming for years. We honestly felt taken advantage of, and we knew we needed to switch providers.”
BoxCast offered the support and value they had been missing, and the confidence that they weren’t in it alone.

Better Streaming, Greater Stewardship
From day one, Grant and his team felt confident in their decision to switch.
“We’ve found it to be way more user-friendly than what we were used to before,” Grant shared. “It’s really well put together.”
When it comes to value, the difference was just as clear.
“We honestly feel like we’re underutilizing BoxCast. It offers such great value for what we pay.”
For Christ Community, streaming isn’t just a nice to have, it’s an essential ministry tool. It serves their congregation when they’re away and helps welcome new visitors who may one day call the church home.
Grant still runs the live stream on Sunday mornings, but now the team feels good about what they’re using, and what they’re spending.
“We’ve come to learn that some streaming services aren’t interested in partnering with churches, but only in getting a paycheck.”

Paying Too Much, Getting Too Little
Christ Community Church had been streaming with Resi since the start of the pandemic, but years later, they realized they were overpaying for a platform they barely used and hadn’t heard from in over three years. As part of a broader review of their tech subscriptions, they realized it was time to find a partner that actually supported their mission.
A Streaming Partner Built for Churches
After thorough research, Grant Perry connected with the BoxCast team and quickly saw the difference: transparent pricing, personalized support, and a platform that was easier to use and more affordable. Now the church is streaming smarter, saving money, and reaching more people, with confidence that they’re finally getting what they pay for.
