Accounting Specialist

Location: Cleveland, OH

Reports To: Accounting & Operations Administrator

As BoxCast continues to grow, we are expanding our Finance & Administration team to efficiently accomplish financial objectives and more effectively engage new opportunities. The Accounting Specialist will assist in day to day accounting operations, periodic closing, and project based initiatives. Members of the Finance & Administration team maintain and enhance our internal controls processes, ensure accurate and informative reporting, and bring a continuous improvement mindset to accounting processes.

  • Manage Accounts Payable including the timely and accurate setup, monitoring, coding and processing of invoices for suppliers, partners, and affiliates
  • Process payroll, payable credit card transactions and employee expense reports in accordance with company policy and accrual-based accounting procedures
  • Monitor, process, and distribute customer ticket and donation sales
  • Assist with budget management and payable forecasts
  • Aid in the control and reporting of inventory and fixed assets
  • Process client/partner product & subscription invoices as assigned
  • Support Accounts Receivable collection efforts
  • Assist in month end, quarterly, and year end close process
  • Perform bank reconciliations as assigned
  • Assist with processing of revenue recognition entries and associated costs as defined in ASC 606/functions as necessary
  • Perform work in preparation of project based initiatives, financial reviews, audits, etc.
  • Help ensure proper recording and reporting of multi-state sales tax and international sales tax
  • Assist in identifying, defining, developing, and implementing financial systems improvement and management
  • Provide backup in other areas of accounting and administrative operations as needed

  • Bachelor's degree is preferred with minimum of 4 years accounting experience in a corporate environment
  • Understanding of best practices in FASB/GAAP
  • Internal audit, systems migration, and tax preparation experience
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel – Macros preferred
  • Proven organization, planning, and analytical skills
  • Experience in online product and service sales, including knowledge of SaaS and/or subscription sales
  • Accounting software experience (Xero and/or NetSuite)
  • Other beneficial platform experience includes but is not limited to: Stripe (or other payment platform), Avalara (or similar tax platform), ADP Run or Workforce Now, Expensify, Hubspot, Zenefits, Jira, Periscope Data, Bill.com
