When FILO needed a reliable livestream platform for nearly 1,400 online attendees around the world, they chose BoxCast to help deliver a seamless experience that let their team focus on serving church technical artists instead of troubleshooting backend technology.
Creating an online experience worthy of a global audience
FILO exists to equip and encourage church tech artists around the world. It occupies an often overlooked yet necessary aspect of ministry, serving the unheralded crew that are often “First In. Last Out.” On an annual basis, their 2-day conference brings together production professionals, volunteers, worship leaders, and creatives from churches around the world.
Following a rapid pivot to a fully online conference during 2020, streaming became a permanent part of the FILO conference experience. By 2026, nearly half of conference attendees were participating remotely with viewers joining from 128 countries. To support their global audience, the team needed a dependable, easy-to-manage streaming platform that could deliver a high-quality experience to viewers worldwide.
As the organization prepared for its annual conference, the team evaluated multiple streaming providers. Beyond technical requirements, they wanted a partner that aligned with their mission to serve ministries and could help their team confidently bring their vision to life.
A streaming platform that stayed out of the way
After researching the live streaming market and evaluating several providers for their 2026 conference, FILO selected BoxCast.
The decision came down to a combination of platform simplicity, proven reliability, and BoxCast’s commitment to their core audience. According to Chief Operations Officer Chelsea Pribyl, the team consistently found themselves returning to BoxCast throughout the evaluation process and in the end they were a clear choice.
Setup was equally straightforward. Stream Producer Dylan Hofmann worked closely with the BoxCast team during implementation and quickly had everything configured for the event in a tight window of time.
Producing the online experience of the FILO conference is complex for Dylan and his team as it requires collaboration with all of the in person production elements as well as the creation of their own streaming content. The last thing the team wanted to have to tackle was also troubleshooting streaming workflows. BoxCast had it handled for them and the live stream was one less thing that the FILO team had to worry about.
A smooth streaming experience that let the team focus on attendees
With nearly half of the attendees joining remotely, stream performance and reliability were critical. Ultimately, the conference successfully streamed to 1,400 viewers across 128 countries—reaching far beyond the walls of the hosting venue, Willow Creek.
The team's production staff reported a smooth experience throughout the event. Hardware performed as expected, backup workflows weren't needed, and technical teams onsite experienced no significant streaming issues. Aside from a localized issue involving internet providers in India, the event proceeded to all online participants without interruption.
Meaningful Connection with a Global Audience
As FILO continues to grow its online community, streaming remains an important part of its mission to equip church technical artists around the world. BoxCast helped the organization confidently deliver content to attendees regardless of location, expanding access to training, encouragement, and meaningful connections to ministry teams almost everywhere.
Focused on People, Not Technology
For FILO, success isn't measured by making events bigger or more flashy. It's measured by creating valuable experiences for attendees, both spiritually and technically. By providing a reliable and easy to use streaming platform, BoxCast allowed the team to spend less time managing backend technology and more time investing in the people they serve.
Whether you're hosting a conference, church service, or special event, BoxCast helps you deliver a reliable live stream experience without adding complexity to your workflow.
