BoxCast customers without automated scoreboard integration now have the ability to manually update the score and period for their video streams.

"We're excited to provide our broadcasters a really simple way to put the score and period on their video streams," said BoxCast President Gordon Daily. "Not everyone has the ability to connect their BoxCaster to a supported scoreboard controller, so this offers a simple solution that viewers will appreciate."

The BoxCaster presently supports options for basketball, football, hockey, soccer, volleyball and wrestling. This means manual entry options are optimized for each of these sports. For example, there are options to add/subtract one, two or three points to the score when you choose basketball. Football offers the option to add/subtract one, two, three or six points.

The feature may be accessed via BoxCast's simple event interface.

BoxCast broadcasters log into their accounts with any web browser (including mobile phones) to control the score and period on the scoreboard.

The score updates will be nearly instantaneous, taking a fraction of a second to get from the web entry into the video stream itself.
